Summer Solstice - First Day of Summer

Today is summer solstice, the longest day and the shortest night of the year when the earth's axis is tilted closest to the sun in the Northern Hemisphere. Each day after will be shorter until the Winter Solstice.  In many cultures around the world it marks a time of growth and opportunity during the growing season.
