5 Things | Mountain Sprouts Children’s Community learns by doing

Hello! My name is Chelsey Diamond and I am the educational director of Mountain Sprouts Children’s Community here in Leavenworth. I have been with this organization since 2011 designing programs and curriculum along with my staff team members. I am blessed to also teach in and out of our classroom daily. Early on in my career, I became fascinated with the way children learn by doing, through hands-on experiences and I believe this style of learning is amplified whilst freely in the outdoors. Community Foundation Awards $120,855 in Grants Across Region

The Community Foundation of NCW has awarded $120,855 in grants to local nonprofits from the fall cycle of its Regional Impact Grants. These grants are offered twice a year to nonprofit agencies for special projects, needs, and enhancements that benefit the region. The foundation received double the amount of grant requests than usual, making the grant more competitive. With a recent $40,000 gift from an anonymous donor from The Seattle Foundation, an additional $20,000 in grants was awarded. LEAVENWORTH — Olivia Melton dropped her colorful painted walking stick and rushed to the delicate yellow flower she spotted growing on the hillside.

Leavenworth Preschool Joins Global Peace and Justice Project | KOHO Radio

MSCC took part in a global effort to raise awareness of genocides and atrocities going on around the world through ONE MILLION BONES.

Our Sprouts, along with thousands around the world, made BONES using various art methods. These bones will be shipped off and added to a collaborative installation of 1,000,000 bones on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. from June 8th-10th, 2013. Each bone made, will generate a $1 donation by Bezos Family Foundation.
